For the first time since 2016, the Ministry of Justice following the Implementation of the Court Fees (Miscellaneous Amendment) Order has decided to increase the Court fees in Divorce and Children proceedings.
From the 30th of September 2021 the court fees will be as follows:
Divorce and Financial proceedings
If you are seeking a decree of divorce or nullity of a marriage or for the dissolution or nullity of a civil partnership, the application fee will now be £592 (previously £550).
If you agree to a financial order by consent, the application fee will now be £53. (previously £50).
However, for contested financial matters (FORM A application) the application fee will now be £275. (previously £255).
Children issues
An application for any of the below child arrangement orders will be increasing from £215 to £232:
1. A Child Arrangements Order
2. A Specific Issue Order
3. A Prohibited Steps Order
4. A Special Guardianship Order
Although the increase in fees cannot be viewed as drastic, at Rose & Rose we appreciate that the potential costs of issuing proceedings are of concern for our clients when they first contact us to find or more about the procedure and costs involved.
